国際学部グローバル・イノベーション学科を2025年3月に卒業したキン・モエット・モエットさんが、カナダ最大規模のリーダーシップ型奨学金である「マッコール・マクベイン奨学金（McCall MacBain Scholar）」の受給者に選出されました。本奨学金は、世界中の数千人に及ぶ志願者の中から選ばれる極めて難関なもので、日本の大学卒業生が受給者に選ばれるのは、キンさんが初めてとなります。
キンさんは本学での卒業研究で、ミャンマーからの若年層移住者が質の高い教育を受けるための「移住者学習センター（Migrant Learning Centres）」の役割に焦点を当てていて、進学先のカナダのマギル大学（McGill University）では教育リーダーシップ学修士（Master of Arts in Educational Leadership）の取得を目指します。キンさんの最終的な目標は、紛争の影響を受けたコミュニティにおける教育へのアクセスを改善することです。

My university experience at Toyo University helped me connect academic learning with real-world challenges. Through student leadership, research on migrant education, and community-based projects, I developed critical thinking and leadership skills while working with people from different backgrounds. These experiences shaped me in preparing for this opportunity.
マッコール・マクベイン奨学金について
マッコール・マクベイン奨学金は、修士課程および専門職学位課程を対象とするカナダ最大規模のリーダーシップ型奨学金です。学費や生活費、渡航費が全額支給されるほか、次世代のリーダーを育成するためのメンターシップやリーダーシップ開発プログラムへの参加機会も提供されます。その選考プロセスは極めて厳格であり、学業成績や知的好奇心に加え、卓越した人格、地域社会への貢献、リーダーシップの潜在能力、そして起業家精神が多角的に評価されます。
